Fav. homeschool books for mom
I know you don’t have a lot of time because you are busy with your family and life at home, so I will get right to the book list today! Here are some of my previous reads I find myself reaching for again and again because they just have such good wisdom, and encouraging words hidden inside their pages.
NO 1. Teaching From Rest by Sarah Mackenzie
This is a gentle, grace-filled guide for homeschool moms who are weary from the pressure to do it all perfectly. It blends practical strategies with biblical encouragement, reminding you that the goal isn’t to check every box but to cultivate peace, joy, and connection in your home. It’s about trading frantic striving for a quiet confidence in God’s provision, so you can teach from a place of rest, not overwhelm.
Here is why I think its a good read-
You don’t have to run this race exhausted. This book is a breath of fresh air for the mom who feels like she’s falling short. It whispers, “You’re not failing… there’s a better way.” By shifting your focus from perfection to simply showing up, it helps you rediscover the joy in homeschooling, the wonder in learning alongside your kids, and the freedom of trusting God with the results.
NO.2 Modern Miss Mason by Leah Boden
Modern Miss Mason invites readers into the timeless wisdom of Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy, reimagined for the modern home. Leah Boden blends the gentle art of learning with practical insights for today’s busy families, showing how to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning without sacrificing peace or joy.
Why should you read it:
This book is like a warm cup of tea with a friend who understands both your dreams and your daily realities [And as a lovely bonus, the audiobook is read by the author herself. Her charming British accent feels like a warm cup of tea for your heart]. It will inspire you to slow down, see the beauty in everyday moments, and rediscover the delight in learning alongside your children. For any mom who longs to make education a rich, life-giving journey rather than a checklist, Modern Miss Mason offers a gentle and hopeful path forward.
